After that, in the addresses given by Deputy Director Generals Hu Zhangcui and Wu Zhimin, they stated that the commitment to the revision of international standards on bamboo and rattan on the platform of INBAR and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) could give China a bigger say in the field of international standards so as to better our modern forestry. In his conclusion remarks, Director General Guo Hui suggested that robust participation in the revision of international standards would help China win more edge in the global strategy on the technical standards of bamboo and rattan. He highlighted three points: First, it was of great significance to set up Technical Committee of Bamboo and Rattan under ISO on the platform of INBAR; second, INBAR and ISO could realise a win-win scenario; third, international standards used in one region could be built and amended within INBAR.

Bamboo and rattan resources are typical Chinese plants. Robust participation in the revision of international standards on bamboo and rattan, also to apply setting up Technical Committee of Bamboo and Rattan under ISO in China can play a positive role in integrating our manufacturing of forest products with international standards, safeguarding national interests and boosting fair play in global markets.
