On September 17, 2026, Daniela Kleinschmit, President of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), and Alexander Buck, IUFRO Executive Director, visited the International Centre for Bamboo and Rattan (ICBR).

Jiang Zehui, Chief Scientist of ICBR, Fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science, and Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees of the International Bamboo and Rattan Organization (INBAR), met with the delegation.

The two sides held in-depth discussions on forestry science and technology innovation, international standardization cooperation in the bamboo and rattan sector, global ecological governance, and coordination on international projects.

Before the visit, Kleinschmit and her delegation toured the International Bamboo and Rattan Exhibition Hall. Qin Daochun introduced ICBR’s work in bamboo and rattan research, technology development, research achievement transformation, and international scientific and technological cooperation, as well as the development of bamboo and rattan resource cultivation, processing and utilization, and related industries in China.
