Liu Guanglu, professor and doctoral supervisor, works at the Research Institute of Bamboo and Rattan Resources and Environment of the International Centre for Bamboo and Rattan (ICBR).

Research Interests: He is mainly engaged in the innovation of bamboo and rattan germplasm resources and the research on the theory and technology of efficient cultivation of bamboo and rattan resources.

He graduated from the Silviculture major of the Chinese Academy of Forestry in 2009 with a doctoral degree. He now serves as the Deputy Director of the Institute of Bamboo and Rattan Resources and Environment, International Center for Bamboo and Rattan; a Leading Talent in Forestry and Grassland Science and Technology Innovation of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration; the Leader of the Innovation Team of "Theory and Technology for Efficient Cultivation of Bamboo and Rattan Resources" under the National Forestry and Grassland Science and Technology Innovation Talent Program; and the Director of the Southern Yunnan Bamboo Forest Ecosystem Research Station.

Research Experience

He has presided over and participated in a number of national and ministerial-level projects, including the National Key R&D Programs of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and "13th Five-Year Plan", the National Science and Technology Support Programs of the "12th Five-Year Plan" and "11th Five-Year Plan", the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Public Welfare Industry Research Projects of Forestry, and the Transformation of Agricultural Scientific and Technological Achievements.

He has published more than 160 academic papers in core journals at home and abroad, among which over 60 papers were published as the first or corresponding author. He has obtained 12 authorized patents, including 5 invention patents.

His relevant scientific and technological achievements have won 1 Second-Class Award of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (2020, ranked 8th), 2 First-Class Awards of the Liangxi Science and Technology Award (2016, ranked 7th; 2013, ranked 11th), and 8 Second-Class Awards of the Liangxi Science and Technology Award (2018, ranked 1st; 2022, ranked 2nd; 2019, ranked 3rd; 2021, ranked 4th and 9th; 2017, ranked 4th; 2020, ranked 6th; 2015, ranked 9th).
