On September 17, Dr. Anna Caterina Rossi, Technical Project Manager of the Central Secretariat of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), visited the ICBR. The meeting was attended by Yin Gangqiang, Deputy Director General of ICBR, Lv Jianxiong, Chair of the ISO/TC 296 on Bamboo and Rattan, and Fang Changhua, Secretary of the Committee.

On behalf of ICBR, DDG Yin Gangqiang expressed gratitude to the ISO Central Secretariat for its long-standing care, support, and guidance to the ISO/TC 296 Secretariat. He stated that ICBR has always placed great emphasis on international standardization in the bamboo and rattan sector and will continue to fully support the ISO/TC 296 Secretariat in carrying out its work with high quality.

During the meeting, Chair Lv Jianxiong introduced the future development vision and key priorities of ISO/TC 296, while Secretary Fang Changhua reported on the latest progress in standardization work and preparations for the 2025 plenary meeting. Dr. Rossi highly commended the significant achievements made by the ISO/TC 296 Secretariat in advancing international standardization for bamboo and rattan.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on future plans and key tasks for international standardization in the bamboo and rattan field. This visit further strengthened communication and collaboration, laying a solid foundation for the sustained development of ISO/TC 296’s initiatives.
