
QIN Daochun, male, Tujia ethnicity, was born in February 1971. He is a member of the Communist Party of China, holds a doctoral degree in Engineering, and has the professional title of Research Professor.
After graduating from university in July 1992, he was assigned to work in the Wood Properties Laboratory of the Institute of Wood Industry, Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF). From September 1994 to August 1998, he pursued in-service graduate studies in Wood Science and Technology at CAF, obtaining a Master’s degree in Engineering. From August 2001 to August 2004, he continued his doctoral studies in the same field at CAF and earned a Doctorate in Engineering.
In August 2004, he joined the International Centre for Bamboo and Rattan (ICBR), where he successively served as Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Education, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, and Director of the General Office. During this period, he concurrently served as Deputy Director of the Taiping Experimental Center of ICBR in Anhui Province (June 2009 – May 2012); worked as a visiting scholar at the USDA Southern Research Station in the United States (December 2004 – June 2005); and attended the 39th Advanced Training Program for Party Member Leaders at the Party School of the State Forestry Administration of the CPC (October 2011 – January 2012).
In November 2021, he was appointed Director General of the Sanya Research Base of ICBR (at Deputy Director-General level). In September 2025, he became Director General and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of ICBR (at Director-General level).
