Conducts research on the collection and innovation of bamboo and rattan germplasm resources; efficient cultivation and integrated management of bamboo and rattan forests; planting and management of characteristic herbs (medicinal herbs, forage grasses, etc.); cultivation and management of regional characteristic, functional bamboo forests; carbon sink enhancement and emission reduction of bamboo and rattan forests; ecosystem functions and services of bamboo and rattan forests; restoration of degraded ecosystems; and multi-scale monitoring and management of bamboo and rattan resources using remote sensing.
Conducts the promotion and commercialization of the technologies developed by the Research Institute and provides relevant technical consultation and other services.
Takes the lead in the construction and operation of bamboo forest ecosystem field observation and research stations and the National Innovation Alliance for the Conservation and Utilization of Bamboo Germplasm Resources.
