Since 2005, ICBR has been committed to widely conduct international cooperation and exchange and has signed more than 20 cooperation agreements and memos with the INBAR, the UNCCD Secretariat, and related universities and scientific research institutions of Canada, the USA, Germany and other countries. The ICBR provided aids for the member state of the INBAR funded by ITTO project and the CFC projects. The ICBR has organized a series of high-profile international academic activities, such as “International Workshop on Bamboo Resources Inventory”, “International Workshop on Sustainability of Global Rattan Industry”, “International Workshop of Science and Technology of Biomass Products” and “The International Convention of SWST, 2012”. In 2016, the ICBR led the establishment of the international standardization organization - Bamboo and Rattan Technical Committee (ISO/TC 296); in 2018, it hosted the first World Bamboo and Rattan Congress (BARC). The China park project jointly built by China and the U.S. has been included in the list of outcomes of the Sino-US strategic and economic dialogue for 7 consecutive times, and also included in the outcome list of President Xi Jinping’s visit to the U.S.A in 2015 and the outcome list of G20 Hangzhou Summit in 2016.
