
Guan Fengying , Research Professor and PhD Supervisor. PhD in Forest Management, Beijing Forestry University (June 2004). Currently serves as Tier-3 Research Professor at the Institute of Bamboo and Rattan Resources and Environment, International Bamboo and Rattan Centre (ICBR), Director of the Yixing National Positioning Observation and Research Station for Bamboo Forest Ecosystems, Jiangsu Province, and Standing Council Member and Deputy Secretary-General of the Bamboo Branch, Chinese Society of Forestry. Selected as a Leading Talent in Forestry and Grassland Science and Technology Innovation (Third Batch) by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration in 2021, and as a Provincial-Level Candidate of the Seventh Batch of the “Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Program” in 2020. Chief Scientist of a National Key R&D Program project under China’s 14th Five-Year Plan.
Research areas include multi-objective and high-efficiency management of bamboo forests, disaster investigation and remote sensing monitoring, and modeling and estimation of regional bamboo forest carbon storage. Principal investigator of more than 20 national and provincial-level research projects, including the National Key R&D Program of China, National Science and Technology Support Program, Forestry Science and Technology Achievement Promotion Projects, and Forestry Science and Technology Innovation Platforms. Author of over 100 papers published in domestic and international core journals; contributor to 5 monographs; holder of 10 authorized patents; contributor to the formulation and implementation of 5 forestry industry standards; and contributor to the evaluation and recognition of 10 scientific and technological achievements. Recipient of more than 15 national and provincial-level awards, including the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the 15th China Forestry Youth Science and Technology Award, First and Second Prizes of the Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Second Prize of Fujian Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
