Dr. Su Wenhui, professor and supervisor for master’s students, received her M.S. in ecology from the Chinese Academy of Forestry in 2005. She joined ICBR in the same year and received her doctoral degree in silviculture in 2012. She currently serves as Deputy Director of the Department of Postgraduate Affairs at ICBR.

Since 2002, Dr. Su has been conducting research on silviculture and ecology, with a focus on the efficient cultivation and sustainable management of bamboo forests. Her research has led to major breakthroughs in the areas of nutrient cycling and precise management, healthy management, bamboo seed screening, seedling breeding, and high-resistance breeding technology. She has presided over more than 10 projects, including tasks of the National Science and Technology Support Program and Key R&D Program of the 11th, 12th and 13th Five-Year Plans, and special research projects of the forestry industry. Dr. Su has published more than 50 journal papers, won 5 Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Awards, received 6 prizes for excellence in academic papers, and edited 3 monographs. She visited the United States and South Korea, among other countries, for technical exchange and study. In addition, Dr. Su has been an active participant of poverty alleviation programs at home and abroad and of talent development efforts.
