The International Centre for Bamboo and Rattan (hereinafter referred to as “ICBR”) is a scientific research institution affiliated to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA) of China. It mainly carries out scientific research on bamboo and rattan and provides scientific and technological support for the International Bamboo and Rattan Organization (INBAR).

ICBR’s main responsibilities include conducting scientific and technological research on the protection, cultivation, material properties, development and utilization of biological resources such as bamboo and rattan, flowers, and precious tree species.

ICBR has a total of 10 administrative departments, 6 sub research institutes and 1 provincial key laboratory. It also has multiple national scientific research platforms and research bases across different parts of China. Furthermore, ICBR also holds the secretariat of the ISO Technical Committee on Bamboo and Rattan (ISO/TC 296) and is in close collaboration with the headquarter of INBAR, an intergovernmental organization based in Beijing, China.

Currently, there’re 5 openings for Postdoctoral Fellow positions at ICBR (based in Beijing).

Candidates must be Chinese nationals and under the age of 40 (born after January 1, 1982) who has finished or will be able to finish their full-time postdoc studies before December 31, 2022.

Registration is open between April 24 -May 9, 2022.

Application procedures include online registration, written examination, interview and physical examination. Name list of final candidates will be subject to public notice for 7 working days before official admission.
